Design Process
Webinsomnia
builds each web site from the ground up, so your site will have a
unique look and feel designed around your core business goals. The
process outlined below ensures a professional web site presence for
your business. From the prototype to the site's launch, Webinsomnia
is involved in every process along the way.
Domain
Name Registration & Host Setup
If you don’t have an existing Domain Name, Webinsomnia will
help with this process. We will also perform the host registration
and setup the management tools that many hosting companies offer with
each site.
Usability
Study
Webinsomnia along with client input determines what the web site's
structure should entail. Depending on the scope of the web site, we
create a Functional Specification Document that outlines the web site's
structure and navigation.
Prototype
Now that the web site's structure is in place, we can do a sketch or prototype of the web site. We either work on a theme that the client
has determined, or we work on one that we have proposed. This is a
very important stage of the design process. We create appropriate
graphics that reflect the desired theme that also complements your
businesses market analysis. Webinsomnia works closely with the client
to ensure that they are satisfied with how their web site will appear
as a finished product. We create a special Client's Area on one of our servers so that the client can review the entire prototyping
process. There are no surprises here. All of Webinsomnia’s clients
know what they are getting before the project due date.
Production
Once the prototype has been approved, Webinsomnia then begins the
production of the web site. All graphics are web-optimized. These
files are compressed for optimal web viewing and are then transferred
into web pages. These pages can be coded in many different web languages,
as best suited for your particular web site requirements. During the
entire coding process, we fully test the web site to ensure trouble
free operation and optimal ease of use to the end user.
Go Live
Once the production of the web site is complete and the client has
approved everything, we launch the web site to a live status on the Internet for everyone to view. This is a very exciting
stage for everyone involved.
Site Promotion
Now that you have a professional web site, how do you get people to
find it online? All of the web site projects that we work on receive
free web site submission to the major search engines. This, however,
does not guarantee a high ranking. This depends on the project's Search
Engine Placement requirements.
Ongoing
Support
Once your site is live and essential promotion
is underway, Webinsomnia provides ongoing support for all its client's
web sites. Whether it is a simple text edit or adding a complex ecommerce
system, we are always available to assist our client's needs.

Design Process
A good graphic design process is structured around ensuring that the client gets the highest quality solution and service appropriate to their business, marketing or communication problem. There are four major steps involved in graphic design:
- Briefing - The briefing stage consists of detailed discussions to clarify any technical issues including budget, timetable and corporate identity guidelines.
- Design - A designer reviews the brief, background material, and identity standards to ensure we understand the project context and your corporate requirements.
Draft concepts and preliminary designs are created. A review presentation takes place to present visual solutions and explains design decisions against the brief. Following your review and feedback, the designer amends the material as required and, if necessary, presents you with new designs.
- Artwork - Artwork files are prepared and proofs are provided, either by email or hardcopy. You either approve the artwork by signing the proof, or mark-up changes you’d like made. Further proofs are provided if neccessary.
- Production - The final proof is reviewed and approved by you. Since we are not a printing house, we will present the final artwork to you, or a print house of your choosing.
